Read protection claims within their limits

A ute drawer described as water-resistant or waterproof needs supporting information about the conditions it is designed to withstand. Neither word should be read as a promise that water can never enter in any situation. Inspect the specified seals, joints, latch arrangement and intended mounting environment.

Protect moisture-sensitive contents

Choose additional containers or bags suited to the items and exposure where needed. Keep contents dry before closing them away and follow the drawer's instructions for cleaning seals and maintaining latches. A canopy or cover may reduce exposure but does not certify the drawers beneath it as waterproof.

Measure the actual tray or tub

Vehicle make alone is not enough to select drawers. Record model year, cab configuration and the tray or factory tub actually fitted, including aftermarket modifications. Measure the clear available length, width, height, openings and obstructions using the drawer supplier's fitment method.

Confirm the complete installation

Check the mounting points and drawer travel, not only the nominal tray length. Compare the system's own weight and intended contents with the drawer, mounting and vehicle loading limits. Use current vehicle and supplier specifications instead of a general Hilux, Ranger or Navara dimension quoted without a year and configuration. Resolve fitment and protection questions together before ordering.
