Identify the space beneath the actual tray
An under-tray drawer uses space beneath the vehicle's tray, but its fit depends on the tray structure, brackets and surrounding components. Record the vehicle, model year, cab configuration and actual tray fitted. A factory tub and an aftermarket tray should not be treated as the same installation.
Check closed and open dimensions
Compare the drawer housing and mounting dimensions with the available space. Allow the drawer's full travel and a usable approach behind it. Check access to other vehicle equipment rather than measuring only the empty rectangle beneath the tray.
Account for the loaded installation
Read the drawer, runner and mounting limits and include the system's own weight as well as its contents when checking the vehicle's permitted loading. A generic 100 kg claim cannot establish suitability for a particular installation. Have the supplier or a qualified installer confirm fitment and load requirements where the documentation is incomplete.
Check protection and maintenance
A lock restricts routine access but does not guarantee that valuable tools are secure overnight. Check the stated water and dust protection, intended exposure and seal maintenance. Use the specified lubricant and inspection method for the runners rather than a universal grease or spray. Mount the system using the approved arrangement; do not improvise drilling or structural changes from a general buying guide.
