A humidifier is intended to add moisture to the air; an aroma diffuser is primarily intended to disperse fragrance in the way specified by its maker. Similar tank shapes do not make them interchangeable.
Choose the purpose first
Check the product's intended function, output and suitable room guidance. If measuring humidity is relevant to the use, use an appropriate method rather than assuming visible mist indicates the right moisture level.
| Detail | What to establish |
|---|---|
| Tank | Usable capacity, refill access and cleaning method |
| Additives | Whether any oils or other substances are explicitly permitted |
| Controls | Output settings, timer and shutdown behaviour |
| Location | Stable position and protection of nearby surfaces |
Make cleaning part of the decision
Follow the manufacturer's instructions for water, cleaning frequency and drying before storage. A hard-to-clean tank can be inconvenient even when its capacity is large. Do not add fragrance to a humidifier that is designed for water only. Avoid unsupported claims about treating illness or making every environment safe for children or pets. Fragrance and oils are not universally suitable around animals; obtain appropriate advice for the household. Choose the appliance for a defined purpose and a cleaning routine you can maintain.
