A side table might not be on your “must-buy” list, but once you’ve got one, you’ll use it constantly. Same with a mobile pedestal (those little rolling drawer units). You pull them out when you need them, push them away when you don’t. Easy.

It’s also nice for visitors — clients, coworkers, or friends who drop by. Sitting in a proper chair feels more welcoming than hovering awkwardly beside your desk.

You don’t have to buy everything at once. Start with what you really need — maybe that’s storage, maybe it’s a guest chair — and add pieces as you figure out how you use the space.
