Measure the table, mirror and stool together

A dressing-table set needs room for its full tabletop, the mirror and the seat while someone is using it. Compare the stool's seat height and width with the table's knee space. A matching finish does not guarantee the stool tucks fully underneath.

Check storage in its open position

Measure drawer travel and clear internal dimensions. For a sliding or adjustable mirror, allow its complete movement and confirm that it will not cover a socket or strike a nearby wall. Keep enough clear surface for the items you use each day.

Read the materials accurately

An oak-colour or timber-look finish is not proof of solid wood construction. Check the specified materials for the top, frame, stool and drawer panels separately, then follow their care guidance. Confirm which mirror, lighting components and seat are included in the selected set.

Plan the setup

Use the assembly and securing instructions, including the mirror's support requirements. If lighting is included, check its power connection, controls and replacement information. Choose a set whose working dimensions suit the room and routine rather than relying on the description 'space-saving'.
